Whew, what a surprise! I honestly thought that once September wrapped up, all the fun would fade away. But I was wrong. This week is packed with exciting events and updates that you won’t want to miss.

CITY UPDATES

2026 City Budget Presentation

Mayor Frank Scarpitti will present the 2026 City of Markham Budget on Wednesday, October 1 at 10 AM. As part of the City’s commitment to budget transparency, a Public Meeting will be held on Thursday, October 9 at 7 PM.

Unionville GO Station Construction

Until mid-December, a large area of the main parking lot at Unionville GO Station will be closed, and the passenger pick-up/drop-off area has been temporarily relocated. This work is part of the City of Markham’s preparations to host the Honda Indy in 2026.

Yorkton Blvd Road Closure

Please be advised that Yorkton Blvd (from Royal Aberdeen Rd to New Yorkton Ave) will be closed from September 29 to October 2, 2025, to facilitate construction. Detours will be in place.

Markham Fair
